Radeon 6470m Kext Helper
Jan 26, 2016 I have a AMD Radeon HD 8250 GPU in my laptop. I've tried to look all over these forums and Google to try and find a kext for it. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on where to get a kext that works with my GPU.
Hey everyone! I'm new to hackintoshing, so please excuse my lack of knowledge! I decided to hackintosh my HP laptop today and got OS X 10.10 installed.
I have many problems with my install, but my number one priority is to get my GPU working properly (Not really enjoying the 1024x768 resolution right now). I have a AMD Radeon HD 8250 GPU in my laptop.
I've tried to look all over these forums and Google to try and find a kext for it. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on where to get a kext that works with my GPU. I can't get clover to work properly on my computer. Whenever I try to install it as my bootloader, my computer says 'Missing operating system' whenever I try to boot from my hard drive. There's nothing plugged into my computer's USB ports, and it doesn't have a CD drive. Is there a boot.log for chameleon?
Chameleon works just fine on my computer.Ok. I reinstalled os x but this time tried with clover as the bootloader. It no longer says 'Missing operating system' when I try to boot to my hard drive. That's good right? Well, now It just goes to a black screen with a solid cursor in the corner (picture attached). Hi, I have the following system: - Gigabyte Z370M-D3H M-ATX - Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake - Gigabyte Radeon RX 560 4GB - Crucial Ballistix 16GB DDR4 - 960 EVO 1TB NVMe SSD - 850 EVO 500GB SSD - Crucial 500GB SSD - The 2 500GB SSD's run in Raid for data storage.
- Western Digital 3TB HDD - Time machine - EFI here (too large to attach): EFI.zip Questions: 1. I have a dual screen running from Radeon card, 1 on DP and 1 on HDMI. The one screen on DP goes randomly blank from time to time. I've read that the kexts should preferably be installed in /library/extensions. I would like to know what kexts should remain in the EFI. I read that you should install FakeSMC in both locations (EFI and L/E).
If I follow this route must I change something in the config.plist? USB info in System Information (attached does not seem correct.
I've followed the changes suggested but I'm not sure if this is the best it can be. Are there something in the EFI and config.plist I don't need or doing wrong? Feedback will be appreciated.
Does this mean that we won't have to flash cards or buy Apple-tax cards at a premium anymore? I've been holding off on a graphics upgrade for a long time.
Maybe I'll get a 6870 with Lion. I am having issues shutting down and restarting after installing the new ATI kexts and OpenGL.framework. Shutdown and restart appear to complete (the monitor turns off), but fans are still running in my computer, and the machine never turns off or restarts.
I toyed with the power saving settings in the BIOS and also tried EvoReboot, OpenHaltRestart, and SleepEnabler to no avail. If I revert back to the old kexts or even the Lion kexts, shutodown and restart work normally. Is anyone else experiencing this? Tried the kexts in your pack last night. Aside from telling me they couldn't be used because they were installed improperly about a dozen times (even using kext helper).
I couldn't get them to work. Then I installed the driver pack for DX58SO motherboards and rebooted and they magically kicked in at boot. However I think they tried to use Chameleon w/ Graphics because it would let me select an HDD to boot from, if I chose my SL drive, the screens blacked out and the fan went to maximum till the machine shut down.
I'm going to attempt this again tonight (the process of going from iATKOS S3 v2 to 10.6.6 while keeping full USB support is a total PITA) and not use Chameleon as the loader this time. I'll repost my findings then. Tried the kexts in your pack last night. Aside from telling me they couldn't be used because they were installed improperly about a dozen times (even using kext helper).
